It’s getting a little bit tricky

So. I’m still at the ceilidh set. Practising away on the accordion but after listening to Jimmy Shand and some other ceilidh bands on Spotify I realise that I’ll need to speed most of the sets up, a lot. I’ve got the Dashing White Sargent pegged in at around 200 bmp and I’ve only been playing it at 120ish. So not quite back to the drawing board but there is work to be done. In saying that my waltzes are fine locked in at 130 bmp.

Ok, let’s get things started.

Right, who remembers Yellow Bentines? gave stardom a crack in the naughties, didn’t quite get there due to various different reasons. Brought out an all brass ‘n vocals album in 2016?

I for one remember us. So what are we up to now? well to be fair it’s just me left now and I’m ready to do a new YB project. I’d love to play some of the old songs again but perhaps that time is passed. For now I’m practising a ceilidh set that I’ve written and I’m hoping to perform and record it soon. This hopefully means by the end of this year, so look out for tartan, sporrans, kilts and all the usual Scottish stuff.

Martin.
